The archived site used video to foreground women’s voices.
“Women Speak” was the video pathway on the original navigation. The homepage paired it with a “Leading Voices” collection and an overview video of The 85% Niche. Its role was to bring people’s words and perspectives into the foreground alongside the site’s writing.
The editorial idea
The collection named women’s, Latina, Black, Asian, Middle Eastern, Eastern European, Native American and bi-racial voices. These were not treated as a substitute for individual experience; they were an invitation to listen across more than one cultural frame.
Explore without a broken player
The original embedded media is not reliable enough to republish as a working player. The Leading Voices directory preserves the route structure, while the journal preserves the editorial questions that accompanied the videos. No new interview or quotation is attributed to anyone here.
Watching with context
A video can preserve tone and examples that a transcript loses, but it still belongs to its recording date. Look for the speaker, venue and subject before applying a claim to a present-day decision. If a historical embed is unavailable, the surrounding article and source information are more useful than a broken player. Start with the journal for written context.
